I purchased the pro upgrade which is supposed to provide Geo referencing. The upgrade does not provide Geo referencing for airport diagram norm for approach plates as advertised.
App appears to have a lot potential but a lot of bugs. No sound on tutorials Different views would layer on top of each other keeping you from seeing things. I liked the attempt, simply needs work.
Brilliant product that just gets better with every update. I have used Avplan for the past two years and I now find it indispensable. I use it to plan trips, to file flight plans (instead of NAIPS), for navigating particularly around control steps, for tracking and reviewing my flight, for looking at winds and weather in flight superimposed upon my track when in mobile coverage, and a host of other things. It has AIP, ERSA, DAPs. You can switch chart backgrounds in a thrice. It tells you what area frequency to be on and suggests what the next one will be. Ground speeds, time to next position, etc and will also show you nearest airports etc. Tracks can be changed by just dragging your current track with your finger! Fantastic. I have had a few queries over years and the guys at Avplan pick up straight away and answer your questions and better still ask for feedback which often seems to find its way into the next version. A complete and utter bargain
I have downloaded the program, and I had installed it. The problem with the program is creating an aircraft to meet the specs of the one your are flying. I created my aircraft and put in the specs. but the program wouldnt let me add the necessary information necessary to do the weight and balance. Before downloading, and using, Id suggest asking them what aircraft they have and if it is like yours.
This has become my app of choice for flying as it includes all info together in one app and doesnt require leaving the app during flight. I especially like how the airport plates are easily accessible from the map. One rather large problem after upgrading to iOS 8 was that all my uploaded .pdfs disappeared including my towercalls.pdf that were stored in Text / POH and they became inaccessible. I imagine this is caused by new locations of icloud drive vs previous icloud. Not sure how to get my files there now and assume an update will be required.
Really good app
Using trial version. Keeps crashing while flanning a flight
Its a good planner eith fine customer service. Coazpilot
This app is amazing even if your not using it to plan flight and you’re using just for the gps. I had filed a plan on 1800wx Brief and was using a paper map to navigate and I got lost. The gps showed me where I was and saved my bacon. Big believer in this app
Para quienes trabajamos en aviación es una excelente aplicación gratuita para consulta
Last year I tried the trial version of AVPlan as well as Oz Ruways in Australia. I’m a CFII in the US and use ForeFlight extensively there with ADSB in capability . This year I purchased the AVPlan NZ VFR subscription for my flying. There is a learning curve to all three, but I find AVPlan to require the most practice to gain proficiency. That said, I like the flight plan feature and its flexibility. Using it for VFR flying in NZ has been very helpful. It syncs well with my Airways IFIS and Met briefings. The AIP document search feature could use a better bookmark naming and organizing function as that is useful when searching unfamiliar regs in a new country. I have also been unable to properly sync with DropBox which contains my library of aviation and aircraft manuals. I do miss the ability to covert my completed flight log to a logbook entry and produce endorsements, signatures and applications for ratings. Customer service is excellent and I recommend this program.
A great app that I have used for 3 years now, with so many features, linking in NAIPS, ERSA and many others. My only problem is that I haven’t used this excellent app to its full potential yet. It is superb and is still developing further.

This has to be one of the best pieces of software I have ever used. The integration of positional awareness, aviation maps, flight plan and the plan tracks onto the maps, weather, PRD's, NOTAMS and ERSA etc. etc. makes this such an easy integration of all that I need whilst flying. I can't rate this product high enough. No Im not being payed by the developer, it truly is a game changer in the cockpit. I used it for the first time after downloading the trial, reading the manual, and then heading off for a weekend flying through NSW and Victoria. Had a co pilot with me who also had the software on his iPad, so when not flying we each learnt and explored the software, including flying instrument approaches (in VFR) using the positional awareness feature on the approach plates. Just love the functionality and ease of use. A great application. I just love this software.
